Richie Hawtin - Inspiration

I have to say again thanks for letting me use the a capella on DE9: Transitions. For the past few years I've found my self in a constant state of Transition... First moving to New York, then back to Windsor and finally finding a new home and place in Berlin.  Throughout this period, I found myself playing this record as a very personal moment during my sets. I quickly realized that it wasn't just a personal moment for me, but that many people in the crowd were really listening, and identifying with the purity of the words.

Many times over the past few years, I've asked myself the very same questions asked in your track. Finally I realized that many people around us also are constantly asking the same. I think the bond many of us share is that we find solace in music, and that at many times, it helps us get through the harder times in life....

What can I say? Techno Music has always, for me, been about making a new transition. It's about always understanding and remembering where we and the music came from, but forever pushing forward into the unknown, from one moment to the next, making another transition! And for all the reasons above (and even more), it made perfect sense to make it the title of my new cd!

Hope this email finds you well, and send greetings to the rest of your team!

--Rich
