DJ 3000 discovered the rich history of Detroit Techno by going straight to the source. Through a friend he was introduced to the world of 2030, one of Detroit's most famous outlets for electronic music, and by association, introduced to the world of Underground Resistance, and hasn't looked back since. He fell in with the Submerge crew and moved forward from there.

He began DJ'ing around Detroit and was introduced to the world via the "Somewhere in Detroit" mix series on Submerge Recordings. Since the release of the SID mix series, as well as with the success of his "Electric Soul" and "True Colors" mix, DJ 3000 worked the crowds of Japan on his 2004 "True Colors Tour", moved the people of Greece at the 2004 Synch Festival and headlined the Music Institute Stage at the 2004 Movement festival in Detroit.

In 2001, DJ 3000 went a step further by establishing Motech Records. Taking the vision and influence provided to him by Detroit and his parent's immigration from Yugoslavia, DJ 3000 began releasing a new hybrid breed of Techno/Electro/Funk with interspersed the soul of Albanian and Middle Easter rhythms that the world had never seen. Through his own releases, and through collaborations and contributions from some of the best up-and-coming Detroit producers, Motech has forged its own unique identity among the Submerge collection of labels. Some projects, both present and upcoming, of note for DJ 3000 and Motech have included the Spring 2006 release of "Migration" - Franki's first full length album on Submerge Recordings - a release on Underground Resistance titled Battlepak Vol.2 and tracks on the upcoming Insterstellar Fugitives Part 2.

Motech Records, through its music, as well as through its mission of providing a voice for the under-represented, will continue to expose the world to the sounds and beliefs of the working class producer and DJ. Using the tools forged by the Industrial Revolution, innovative technology, and a rich ethnic past keep Motech's assembly line working around the clock to give the world the music it desires.
